The OMD 1500j Flash is the first of OMD Technology’s professional large flash units for use in underwater & wet-weather situations. The light is capable of working at depths exceeding 100M/ 330ft and offers a full range of accessories.
This is currently the largest underwater strobe available worldwide. OMD Technology developed the unit after a demand increased for a high-powered underwater flash in the underwater photographic stills industry. With1500j of flash energy in one single unit photographers now have 5 times more power than previously available underwater.
Ideal for shoots in pools and open water the unit is AC powered from the surface via OMD’s standard underwater power cables. Each unit has an individual ‘PocketWizard plus II’ hardwired via the sync cable to the surface. The photographer’s underwater housing requires a hardwire sync cable running to the surface which connects to the supplied “PocketWizard plus II’ enabling multiple heads to fire both underwater and above.
The unit has a visible ‘Flash ready control lamp’ and a rotary switch for power control underwater. The AC power is protected by an OMD RCD/MCB insuring the highest level of safety.
